Philosophy

The first mention of Yoga was found in the Vedas (the oldest scriptural texts of Hinduism) which were written about 5000 years ago. It is a philosophy advocating and prescribing a course of physical and mental disciplines which, when practiced, lead to the liberation of the mind from the material world and the union of the self with the Supreme Being or ultimate principle. Yoga then is considered to be the path to freedom.

The four main Yogas are

•  Raja Yoga (Yoga of meditation or rather all styles of Yoga fused together)

•  Jnana Yoga (Yoga of knowledge)

•  Karma Yoga (Yoga of Action)

•  Bhakti Yoga (Yoga of Devotion)

This is my yoga. Not a fitness class. Not a 20-minute workout. Not a social club. My yoga is about change. Change in attitude. Change in consciousness. Change in self-realization. Change that takes you to the place you want to be. It's about a freedom for your mind, body and spirit. And it's all possible through this ancient art and science.
